Industrial production slows doiwn to 6.7% in September

The industrial production index registered a 6.7% year-on-year expansion in September, propelled by a 7.6% increase in the Manufacturing sector and a robust 11.2% growth in the Electricity & Gas Supply sector, according to data released by the Ministry of Statistics. The IIP growth rate for September reached 6.7 percent, a deceleration from the 8.0 percent (Quick Estimate) recorded in August. Sector growth rates for August 2026 reflected a contraction of (-) 6.2 percent in Mining & Quarrying, an expansion of 7.6 percent in Manufacturing, an increase of 11.2 percent in Electricity & Gas Supply, and a rise of 5.8 percent in Water Supply, Sewerage & Waste Management.
