NIFTY moves up, Nifty Realty remains on investors' radar, gaining 1.48%

The key equity barometers traded with slight gains in morning trades. Nifty moved in a range of 23415-23350. Nifty Realty, Nifty Metal and Nifty FMCG shares advanced, while Nifty IT shares fell.

At 10:45 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, added 299.08 points or 0.40% to 74,828.16. The Nifty 50 index inched up 81.20 points or 0.35% to 23,410.20.

The broader market underperformed the frontline indices. The BSE 150 MidCap Index edged higher by 0.41% and the BSE 250 SmallCap Index posted modest gains of 0.47%.

The market breadth was healthy. On the BSE, 3084 shares gained and 1558 shares retreated. A total of 245 shares were unchanged.

Nifty Realty index climbed 1.48% to 874. The index has fallen 6.06% in last one month and lost 6.52% over last one year. Phoenix Mills, up 2.64%, led the gainers followed by Anant Raj, edging up 2.12% and Prestige Estates, gaining 1.69%, respectively. All 10 constituents are advancing today.

Nifty Metal index gained 1.30% to 13160. The index has eased by 2.92% in last one month and registered sharp gains of 29.53% over last one year. S A I L, adding 4.28%, led the gainers followed by Welspun Corp, inching higher 2.81% and Vedanta, edging up 2.63%, respectively. Out of 15 index constituents, 14 are reporting gains today.

Nifty IT index posted modest losses of 0.50%. The index has lost 6.58% in last one month and slumped 19.49% over last one year. Persistent Systems, slipping 1.59%, led the losers followed by TCS, easing 0.78% and Infosys, edging lower 0.66%, respectively. Out of 10 index constituents, 9 are reporting loss today.

Out of 14 sectoral indices on NSE, 12 are in green today. Nifty Realty index has plunged 6.06% in last one month and has declined 6.52% over last year. Nifty IT index has recorded steep losses of 6.58% in last one month and is sharply lower by 19.49% over last one year.

From NIFTY50 index, Meesho, Ola Electric AND Allied Blenders are leading in terms of volumes today, clocking turnover of 92729.48 lakh shares, 7335.72 lakh shares and 53216.78 lakh shares respectively.

Asian markets traded slightly higher on Wednesday. China’s Shanghai composite is modestly lower by 0.30%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is lower by 0.94%. Japan’s Nikkei 225 is firmly higher by 1.38%.

NIFTY50 Sep-26 futures are in discount of 23.90 points today.
