Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index rises 0.86%

Nifty Metal index closed up 0.86% at 13172.6 today. The index is up 5.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Welspun Corp Ltd gained 15.30%, Vedanta Ltd jumped 4.10% and Hindustan Zinc Ltd rose 3.66%. The Nifty Metal index is up 39.00% over last one year compared to the 3.32% decline in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty FMCG index is down 0.74% and Nifty Auto index has slid 0.60% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 witnessed a rise of 0.08% to close at 24252 while the SENSEX added 0.00% to close at 77540.83 today.
