How to Register for the NISM VA Certification Examination?

Visit the NISM Registration Portal through the official NISM website.

Complete the Registration Form by filling in all required fields, including:
  • Personal details such as name, date of birth, occupation, education etc.
  • Upload scanned copies of your PAN card and photograph

Submit and Activate your account:
  • Click "Submit" to complete the registration.
  • You'll receive a NISM registration number and an account activation link via email.
  • Activate your account by clicking the link.

Schedule Your Exam:
  • Log in to your activated NISM account.
  • Select a test venue, date, and time slot that suits your preference.

Make payment of ₹1,500 (if you're an individual) for the exam through the available online payment methods.

The passing score for the NISM VA exam is 50%. You’ll have to answer 100 questions and get 50 correct answers to pass the exam.

There is no negative marking for the NISM VA Exam. So if you answer 50 out of 100 questions correctly, you will receive the certificate and quality to become a Mutual Fund Distributor.

The NISM VA Certification is valid for three years from the date of the exam.

Yes, you can retake the NISM VA Certification exam if you fail. There is no restriction on the number of attempts. However, you will need to register again and pay the exam fee for each attempt. You can also reappear for the exam immediately. There is no waiting period or restriction on the number of attempts.

Yes, there is a specific time frame within which you need to complete the NISM VA Certification exam. The exam needs to be taken within six months from the date of registration.

The NISM VA exam is open to all individuals who have completed 18 years of age and have completed their 12th standard school exams.

Yes, you can reschedule your NISM VA exam if you are unable to attend the originally scheduled date. You need to contact the NISM helpdesk or the test center to make rescheduling arrangements.

The NISM VA exam results are declared immediately after the test. You'll also get a downloadable result summary and your certificate (if passed) within 15 working days.
