Capital Goods stocks rise

Among the components of the S&P BSE Capital Goods index, Carborundum Universal Ltd (up 4.63%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd (up 1.2%),Lakshmi Machine Works Ltd (up 1.19%),Suzlon Energy Ltd (up 0.93%),CG Power & Industrial Solutions Ltd (up 0.77%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Siemens Ltd (up 0.71%), Grindwell Norton Ltd (up 0.4%), Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd (up 0.36%), Bharat Electronics Ltd (up 0.33%), and Praj Industries Ltd (up 0.3%).

On the other hand, AIA Engineering Ltd (down 1.3%), Polycab India Ltd (down 0.94%), and Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (down 0.48%) turned lower.

At 09:46 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 181.89 or 0.29% at 61946.14.

The Nifty 50 index was up 49.65 points or 0.27% at 18314.05.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 115.69 points or 0.39% at 29564.01.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 33.53 points or 0.36% at 9221.05.

On BSE,1794 shares were trading in green, 996 were trading in red and 123 were unchanged.
